FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 24, 2014
Houston, Texas – The Regency International Pageant is thrilled to announce that the pageant has team up with Homeless Pet Placement League (HPPL) in an effort to help Houston’s homeless pets. Pageant owner, Terri Dingle, along with Titleholders, Mrs. Kimberly Bond, Miss Erica Ramirez, Teen Kayelyn Arambula, and Little Maurielle Vargas, feel very strong about supporting local animal charities. They chose HPPL, the nonprofit animal welfare organization, after HPPL helped Kimberly with two abandoned puppies that were found near her work in December of 2013. The organization provides for the rehabilitation and adoption of stray and abandoned dogs and cats. They do not operate as a shelter; the animals are cared for in the homes of those who rescue them. The rescuer serves as the foster parent until the animal is adopted into a permanent home. HPPL also provides assistance to pet owners who are unable to assume the cost of spaying/neutering their animals. HPPL also supports other animal welfare organizations in the area that need further assistance.
Houston’s Homeless Pet Placement League works with veterinarians to provide quality care for all of their rescued animals. Veterinarians assisting HPPL are reimbursed for their services by the organization according to a set fee schedule. The majority of HPPL’s budget goes toward providing veterinary care, including spay/neuter, for the animals. Since the organization does not require that a fee be paid to admit an animal into their foster program, they are entirely dependent upon private donations from member and nonmembers to continue their work. HPPL is also in need of volunteers, please go to their website at www.hppl.org and become a volunteer or donate today.
PetSmart and Petco stores in the Houston area, graciously host HPPL’s Adoption days in their stores, to further aid in helping the animals find their “Forever Homes”. If you are interested in adopting a loving dog or cat, please visit HPPL’s website at www.hppl.org to find the next adoption day in your area.
The Regency International Pageant is asking that on the day of the pageant that guest give a donation in lieu of an admission ticket to the pageant. All monies and pet supplies collected will be given to HPPL in order for them to keep up the good work that they do to help find Houston’s homeless pets a wonderful and caring “Forever Home” for so many deserving animals.
On February 21, 2015 at the Crown Plaza, Northwest Freeway in Houston, TX, the first prelim of the year, South Central Regency International pageant will be held, and on July 30 thru August 1, 2015 in The Woodlands, TX, The Regency International Pageant will both be waiving the admission to the pageant for a donation to HPPL.
